Interim Planning Director Recognized

As you know, HVNA is a member of the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition,an advocacy group composed of nearly 50 diverse organizations that advocatesfor the building all types of housing in San Francisco

Please mark your calendars for the SF HAC's annual Housing Hero Award, which, this year, will be given to our interim Planning Director, Dean Macris.  The event will be held on Friday, July 15, on the roof of 199 New Montgomery (a HAC endorsed project), from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.  Lunch will be served.  I hope a number of members of our organization will be able to attend.

The recipient of the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition's third annual Housing Hero Award is Dean Macris. As Interim Planning Director, Macris has turned the Planning Department around, championing neighborhood plans, including Rincon Hill, Mid-Market, and the Eastern Neighborhoods. Macris served as Planning Director from 1980-1992.

Over the last year, we have once again seen smiles on the faces of hard-working planners, and optimism about plans for our beloved city that will accommodate existing and new residents. Dean is especially excited to use the HAC's award ceremony to recognize the outstanding work his staff has been pursuing. The award ceremony is:
