July Meeting

The July meeting promises to be one of information and involvement. We will get to review the plans for the first parcel to be built upon along Octavia Blvd, Parcel Q, at the corner of Oak and Octavia. There have been a variety of changes to both the internal and external designs since we first reviewed this project, and WestBay Housing will be presenting the new plans along with their architects and development partners.

We will also have a segment on parking, always a contentious issue. With a ballot initiative circulating to guarantee parking in neighborhoods, regardless of type or density and regardless of the congestion that building parking lots can cause, this is very timely.

We will also have segments dealing with the UC Extension site and Public Safety. For more information, please see the articles regarding these topics elsewhere in the Voice.

We all should be informed about what is happening in and around our neighborhood, and we should all be involved in ensuring any change be positive change. Please attend the meeting, become informed and get involved. Only you can ensure your own voice will be heard.
