Got Art?

The HVNA Arts, Culture, and Environment Committee (ACE) presents its inaugural edition of the ACE pullout page in this copy of the Voice. The page features a calendar of local events related to art and the environment on one side and on the reverse, a map and listing of local places of interest. This first map focuses on visual art. We have several established art venues and businesses showing art in Hayes Valley as well as a few very exciting new galleries. Please visit the new Reaves Gallery, Fecal Face Dot Gallery, and the other venues as part of the new Hayes Valley Art Stroll on the third Friday of every month

June 5th is World Environment Day. It was only three years ago that San Francisco hosted the international event Green Cities: Plan for the Planet. World Environment Day is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. www.unep.org. The Natural World Museum, naturalworldmuseum.org, based in San Francisco, is a mobile and global cultural institution that partners with the United Nations Environment Programme. A line from their site could be the mantra for the ACE Committee: “…the fusion of art and environment is a powerful synergistic tool for social change.”Think globally, act locally, and become involved with the HVNA ACE committee. art@hayesvalleysf.org
