Thank a Teacher Today!

Help us with the third annual Thank A Teacher Today Campaign! The San Francisco Education Fund, Mayor Gavin Newsom, San Francisco Unified School District and community groups across the City are asking San Franciscans to thank teachers throughout the month of May for anything and everything they do. Each week, San Franciscans will join together via the internet, local events, e-mail and neighborhood groups to show our appreciation for teachers. It’s easy and fun.

Join with Principal Wheaton and the John Muir PTA for Teacher Appreciation Day at a special morning assembly May 22nd. The event will take place at John Muir Elementary, 380 Webster, and will begin at 8:40 am with all students, teachers and staff hosted by Principal Wheaton, John Muir PTA, Community Partners United, Tzu Chi and parents. Please come if you can. Fundraising at the recent Lily Street Block Sale will be used to help support this event and the Promotion Day to be held soon.

You can send a free e-card to teachers by visiting www.ThankATeacherToday.org. All you need to know is the teacher’s name and school. (Our local School is John Muir.)

We’ll make sure the teacher receives your e-card! You can also look up the addresses of your local school and send a handwritten note. It only takes a couple of minutes to say thanks, but the meaning of your gesture lasts a lifetime! Visit www.ThankATeacherToday.org for more information!
