Interested in Helping Produce the Voice?

The first Voice was distributed in 2000, after a half dozen years of monthly fliers throughout the neighborhood. Currently volunteers deliver 3900 newsletters to every Hayes Valley address as well as City Hall and SF Unified School District headquarters.

Lately, production of the Voice has mainly fallen on the shoulders of Paul Olsen, Frances Neagley and Richard Johnson - all past HVNA presidents - along with dedicated neighbors (in particular graphic artist William Ulrich).

With all that is happening in the ‘hood, it’s time for more people to get involved! If you can offer any assistance in writing, editing, collecting and cataloging neighborhood activities for the calendar, photography, layout or distribution, we need you to join us. It’s also high time that we give special thanks to those who handcarry the newsletter to each address in our neighborhood every month. Some of these volunteers have been distributing since 1994, others just a few months. They’re a wonderful group of people, fulfilling a vital function:
