Make Sure You Count!
Census forms have been mailed, and should be
turned in by now. Please do your part and be
counted! For every resident counted, San Francisco
gains about $4,000 in federal funding for
core City services, such as roads, schools, and
hospitals, not to mention how much representation
we get in the US Congress, and more.
This is a once-in-a-decade opportunity. An
estimated 100,000 San Francisco residents were
not counted in the 2000 Census, losing the City
over $300 million in federal funding over the
past decade. Don’t let it happen again. Mail
in your form, respond to requests from census
workers, and encourage friends and relatives to
do the same.
